Soeur Morley’s Mission

Liz MTC map photo

There was a map in the MTC where missionaries often took photos like this one.

CMM New missionary transfer board photo

Mission photo that was kept up on my mission president’s transfer board from November 1990-March 1992.

Serving a mission in the Canada Montréal Mission was one of the greatest pre-marriage and motherhood gifts that I ever could have received! This photo is of me by the famous wall map at the MTC, while I was there being trained to be a missionary. I was at the MTC at the same time as my husband, from September-November 1990. We didn’t meet at the MTC, although he says he remembers seeing me there!
I mention this caveat about mission photos: I post them online in an expression of humility. During my mission I gained more weight than I ever have in my life (except for being pregnant!). I did a lot of sitting and a bit of eating of food that wasn’t my normal diet. Exercise was not built into the missionary schedule like it is today, even though I wished it were! We drove a lot because our mission was so large, and I wasn’t in “BMW” areas most of my mission (BMW=bike, metro, walk). So I was grateful that I could exercise and lose some weight after returning!

I was blessed to serve in a multilingual on my mission. I wish I could have known Chinese, Arabic, Greek, and Russian, and Spanish before going as well, since it would have made sharing the gospel even easier where I served.

Here’s a list of posts that include information about my mission to Montréal, Canada:
