By the fireplace
I had a rare quiet moment in front of the fire tonight, with no one in the room and the house still. I was thinking about the day and the snow and remembered a poem I love, “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” by Robert Frost. I remembered a melody I had written to that song a few years ago, and made a little recording for my kindergarten music class, so I can use it in my lesson next week.
Snow and winter evenings and quiet are so lovely. Fireplaces and warmth are such a gift. Poetry by Robert Frost and music and beautifully illustrated children’s books are just my cup of tea.
